Meet Willow, one of many sweetest & most lovely canines I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing! I used to be veryyy tempted to steal this pup and take her again residence with me, haha – particularly because it’s not day by day that I get to {photograph} a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever! She is a complete sweetheart and likes to make new buddies. Willow is definitely her mother’s first canine, and they’re already off to a nice begin! I cherished seeing the bond that they’ve already made. And if that is just the start of their relationship, then I can’t wait to see what it grows and blossoms into from right here!
We began our session at Balboa Park, which turned out to be a beautiful (if extremely busy) spot. Regardless of all of the exercise & distractions, she was an ideal angel all through the afternoon, and did nearly every little thing we requested her to do. I used to be impressed together with her obedience for such a younger pup at simply 5 months outdated! There’s loads of time and work that go into obedience coaching and it could really feel such as you’re making progress at a snail’s tempo. Puppies have a brief consideration span and it’s an enormous world for them to determine (and be distracted by), so coaching may be extraordinarily difficult. It takes time, power and energy – and Willow’s mother has accomplished SUCH a superb job staying constant! I’m right here to let you know that each one the hours they’ve put in collectively have paid off – not just for her, nevertheless it made my job rather a lot simpler too, haha! Willow’s focus allowed us to get an awesome number of portraits. The park was a spectacular setting with all of its vibrant colours, too; it labored effectively with Willow’s ruby pink fur and I’m so glad we began our session there.
We ultimately headed to the studio, the place the sights & sounds of the park light and we acquired to decelerate & loosen up a bit. I keep in mind feeling fairly excited all through our picture session due to how effectively every little thing was going, and I figured the portraits weren’t going to disappoint. So right here’s Willow’s sneak peek… you be the decide! ?
This candy face is Willow!
As quickly as I noticed these flowers, I knew Willow belonged amongst them. Fortunately, she was keen to entertain all of our loopy concepts!
She was a pure within the studio. And I feel all of us loved the change of tempo from the park!

I’m excited to see how Willow and her mother’s relationship continues to develop and deepen through the years. They’re such a cute pair! Coaching apart, they merely have an awesome bond, and it’s all the time so beautiful to see an individual and canine in sync with each other.
Emily, thanks a lot for visiting the studio all the way in which from Dana Level! I’m excited to share the remainder of our photos with you very quickly!
