This April Charity Kheshgi and I seen Cooper’s hawks nesting in Frick Park and questioned when their younger would fledge. In “Cooper’s Hawk Nesting Questions” I concluded the younger would fly by June 22-26 on the newest. They had been even later than that as a result of…
This month we checked on their progress each few days. On 3 July the pair had 4 thriving kids who had been strolling on branches and making quick hops. (Not fledged but?) By 8 July the younger might fly however they refused to go away the neighborhood of the nest.
All 4 had been nonetheless there on 14 July, flying nicely and begging close to the nest. “Feed me!” Their father baby-sat, above, whereas their mom was out looking. The younger had been very alert, particularly after they noticed “mother” coming house.

July 14th was the final time we noticed all six relations collectively. 5 days later they’d dispersed. The Cooper’s hawk household had grown up.
